The National Arts Council's island-wide network of arts and culture nodes is developed for people to come together to participate in, enjoy, and experience the arts in their neighborhood. Our Tampines Hub is part of the Arts and Culture Nodes Network.
About Tampines Boy
Shai and his family have lived in their Tampines Central home for the last 35 years. With ageing parents, marriage not quite on the books yet, and property valuation in the estate at an all-time high, the question increasingly on everyone’s mind is, “to sell or not to sell?” While they joke about wanting to sell the house (sometimes not really), deep down they’re reluctant to move. But in a city of constant progress, will pragmatism trump sentimentality? Afterall, it’s just a house…right?
Created by Shaifulbahri Mohamad, Tampines Boy is a part-theatrical, part-tour promenade experience taking place in the Tampines Central estate. Journeying through the different places and spaces he has grown up in, he contemplates the impermanence and temporal nature of the state of things in a place like Singapore.

Our Tampines Hub
Our Tampines Hub (OTH) is Singapore’s first and largest integrated community and lifestyle hub that brings together multiple agencies to offer a comprehensive and diverse range of services, programmes and facilities. This project is led by People’s Association and is located at the former Tampines Stadium and Tampines Sports Hall. Following its Grand Opening in August 2017, residents and visitors are enjoying a variety of sports facilities, a bigger regional library, countless community club programmes and amenities, arts programmes and facilities, a hawker centre, retail shops and many more user-friendly features. The development represents a new community-focused model which is celebrated through meaningful engagement at all levels, building a robust identity for Tampines and a truly sustainable community. Conceptualised with input from 15,000 Tampines residents, Our Tampines Hub is a project built by residents, for residents.
More information on OTH can be found at https://www.pa.gov.sg.
